It is a privilege to write a letter of support for the SCAATAP program. I was introduced to the program through its author Dr. Kim Hollaway. After perusing the various applications of this program, it occurred to me that it would be the perfect format for my student interns to log their activities during their internship. Because it is based on the ASCA national model it helps the students and the supervisors see what part of their programs are aligned with the standards. As a result of using this program with the school counseling interns many of the supervisors have also jumped on board and are now using it as well. One entire school district has implemented the program and my interns are training the practicing school counselors.
An example of the impact that this program can have came from one of my interns: She handed her supervisor the graphed log sheet of her work for that particular month. Using the great graphing component of the SCAATAP program, she was able to show the supervisor that all she had done that month was monitoring the standardized testing and make up testing. When the supervising school counselor took the graph into her principal to show him that the only thing the school counseling department actually was able to do that month was testing, he immediately responded by removing that from their job description. This was quite an impact on that school counseling department. It changed this school counseling program to help more students.

Thanks for your supportive comments. Your tech support and quick responses are nothing short of outstanding! Also, the student information import process was easy to accomplish, even for a "novice" such as myself.

The more I use SCAATAP the more I discover how wonderfully designed it is. Working at two sites I have to maintain two separate sets of records and SCAATAP’’s ability to adapt to multiple schools has made my record keeping much more organized (and readable). And next year if I have another school site assigned to me I feel confident SCAATAP will be invaluable in sorting out all my labors, providing me with precise summaries of all my endeavors. Thank you for such a remarkable tool to keep counselors sane, even when the work load isn’’t.

I would highly recommend SCAATAP (School Counselor Accountability and Task Analysis Program). It is directly linked to the ASCA standards and is very reasonable in cost. Additionally, the staff is extremely helpful. I have even gotten return phone calls/emails on Saturday afternoons. The software is pretty amazing. The hard part is training ourselves to log everything we do.

I love the program. I love its simplicity, its thoroughness and its friendly manner of accepting information. THANKS FOR CREATING SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SYSTEM, especially one that is so compatible with the way counselors think.
It has enhanced my perception of all that I am accomplishing in the span of the day. From crisis intervention, to individual planning, to parent meetings. And from this composite visualization I am able to better plan my productivity and thus, be of greater asset to the students and teachers.
For the first time in many moons, I feel validated in my labors. As well as supported by the raw strength that accompanies data.
Thanks Dave and Kim, you did better than good!!! You've crafted a tool with sensitivity and the ability to speak in quiet meticulousness.

I have used SCAATAP since the fall of 2003. SCAATAP is an easy way to show administrators and board members how I spend my time. Since budget cuts have been a major issue in our school, I want to be able to use data to illustrate the importance of my time and how I spend it. It is also beneficial for me to see if I am spending the appropriate amount of time in each of the delivery systems (guidance, individual planning, responsive services, and system support). It has been a valuable tool in a time where schools seem to be driven by data. I would recommend SCAATAP to any professional school counselor who wants to keep an account of how he/she uses his/her time.
